Leaves single, short-stemmed, arranged alternate (alternate), green, elongated shape (oblongus), length 6-17 cm, a width of 2.5 to 7.5 cm long, thin leaf blade rigid, pointed tip and base, flat edge, pertulangan pinnate (pinnate), smooth surface of single flowers, appearing in the armpit and the rod tip leaves, stemmed, thick petals yellowish green artificial fruit, rounded conical, white, powdery green color, 50-10 cm long, bumpy surface of the fruit, with seeds shaped small pieces - shiny black, fruiting after the age of 3-5 years Perbanyaan generative (seeds).

 The fruit is with many protuberances or knobby segments that are covered with a powdery bloom, and looks like a giant raspberry. The edible pulp is creamy white, juicy, sweet, and aromatic. Each carpel contains a shiny, smooth, oblong, black or dark-brown seed, 1.3-1.6 cm long. The fruit is used in making ice creams and milk beverages. The seeds are acrid and poisonous. Bark, leaves and seeds contain the alkaloid, anonaine.

Solitary or in short lateral clusters about 2.5 centimetres (0.98 in) long, 2-4,greenish-yellow flowers on a hairy, slender 2 centimetres (0.79 in) long stalk. Green outer petals, purplish at the base, oblong, 1.6 centimetres (0.63 in) to 2.5 centimetres (0.98 in) long, and 0.6 centimetres (0.24 in) to 0.75 centimetres (0.30 in) wide, inner petals reduced to minute scales or absent. Very numerous stamens; crowded, white, less than 1.6 centimetres (0.63 in) long; ovary light green. Styles white, crowded on the raised axis. Each pistil forms a separate tubercle (small rounded wartlike protuberance), mostly 1.3 centimetres (0.51 in) to 1.9 centimetres (0.75 in) long and 0.6 centimetres (0.24 in) to 1.3 centimetres (0.51 in) wide which matures into the aggregate fruit.Flowering occurs in spring-early summer and flowers are pollinated by nitidulid beetles.

There are medicinal application of the custard apple tree. The bark and leaves contain annonaine, an alkaloid. A bark decoction is used to stop diarrhea, while the root is used in the treatment of dysentery. A decoction of the leaves is used as a cold remedy and to clarify urine. Annona squamosa Linn., family Annonaceae, is said to show varied medicinal effects, including insecticide, antiovulatory and abortifacient.The fruits of Annona are Haematinic, cooling, sedative, stimulant, expectorant, maturant, tonic. They are useful in anemia, burning sensation. The seeds are abortifacient and insecticidal and are useful in destroying lice in the hair. Leaves are used to overcome hysteria and fainting spells. Fruit is used in making of ice creams & milk beverages.
